At Vistavis, we recently completed a specialist stone restoration project designed to bring heavily worn surfaces back to life while improving both appearance and long-term maintainability.
What We Did…
Our team carried out a full surface honing and restoration process to remove chemical staining, scratches, and surface damage from the stone flooring. Using 9 grades of professional diamond polishing discs, we carefully worked through each stage of the honing process until the desired smooth honed finish was achieved.
Once the surface had been fully restored, we applied an aqueous impregnation seal to the stone. This penetrates deep into the surface, helping to close the pores of the stone and protect it against future soil, moisture, and water penetration.
To complete the restoration, the surface was polished and sealed using a vitrification method. This specialist process creates a durable high-gloss finish while also improving slip resistance and making the floor significantly easier to maintain daily.
Why We Did It…
Commercial washrooms experience some of the harshest conditions within any building. Constant cleaning chemicals, heavy footfall, moisture, and general usage can all contribute to the gradual deterioration of natural stone surfaces.
Simply cleaning the surface is often not enough once damage has occurred. Restoration was necessary to:
